All phases of the process must be completed to be eligible for hire as a Merit Deputy. Please record the dates for the physical and written testing. You will not receive any additional reminder of the testing dates. Minimum requirements for a Merit Deputy are:

APPLICATION- All applications must be returned to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department on or before Friday, January 30, 2009 at 4:00 PM.
PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST- Applicants will be tested at the Madison County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 9:00 AM. Attached information is provided on the physical test. You must bring a signed medical release from a physician in order to take the physical agility test.
WRITTEN APPITUDE TEST- The Madison County Sheriff’s Department has contracted with an independent firm, Institute for Public Safety Personnel, to conduct the written testing. The test will be administered on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 9:00 AM at Anderson University- Hartung Hall. Written testing procedures are attached. All applicants must pass the physical agility testing before taking the written test.
