Yes children are allowed to visit so long as there are no active protective orders prohibiting the contact.  Only 4 visitors are allowed during the visit. 
Visitations are contucted at scheduled times at the Detention Center (720 Central Avenue Anderson, IN).  Visitors are seperated from the inmates by a glass and metal partition and communicate via phone.

The only items we permit to be sent into an inmate besides money orders and letters are photos.  You may mail in photo's to the inmate, the inmate is only permitted a limited number of photo's in his or her cell.    Anderson Public Library provides all library services to the inmates in the jail.  --Jail Commander 3-12-2008
The person receiving the call may press *3 on the phone when the inmate calls and that will block the call.  They may also bring a copy of their phone bill and a valid ID and we can block the number from the jail.  --Jail Commander 3-12-2008

A money order made payable to the inmate, you can either mail it to the jail or drop it off 24 hours a day in the lobby box.  -Jail Commander
