The hiring process for Sheriff's Merit Officer typically starts in January of each year.  Details will be posted on this site and published in local newspapers.
No all firearms application must be completed in person by our Records division.
Applications for our Reserve division are accepted daily.  The hiring process for Deputy has concluded for year 2008.

Conversion
    
Sec. 3. (a) A person who knowingly or intentionally exerts unauthorized control over property of another person commits criminal conversion, a Class A misdemeanor.
    (b) The offense under subsection (a) is a Class D felony if committed by a person who exerts unauthorized control over the motor vehicle of another person with the intent to use the motor vehicle to assist the person in the commission of a crime.
    (c) The offense under subsection (a) is a Class C felony if:
        (1) committed by a person who exerts unauthorized control over the motor vehicle of another person; and
        (2) the person uses the motor vehicle to assist the person in the commission of a felony.

The short answer to your question is - it depends.  Meaning, officers receive the information and make diligent efforts to confirm the validity of the warrant.  They may be busy handling another call at the time the information is received and it may take some time to serve the warrant.

Yes children are allowed to visit so long as there are no active protective orders prohibiting the contact.  Only 4 visitors are allowed during the visit. 
Visitations are contucted at scheduled times at the Detention Center (720 Central Avenue Anderson, IN).  Visitors are seperated from the inmates by a glass and metal partition and communicate via phone.

The only items we permit to be sent into an inmate besides money orders and letters are photos.  You may mail in photo's to the inmate, the inmate is only permitted a limited number of photo's in his or her cell.    Anderson Public Library provides all library services to the inmates in the jail.  --Jail Commander 3-12-2008

After missing 3 months of mortgage payments, the bank forecloses and the property ends up on the Sheriff Sale list.  The prices shown on the Sheriff Sale list is the amount owed to the Bank only.  On the day of the sale the bank bids first, then anyone can outbid the bank.
Current Sheriff Sale lists are published in the newspaper and on this site.  No there are no signs placed on the property by the Sheriff's department.

One must bid $1.00 over the bank amount unless there is competitive bidding (more than one person bidding on the property).  If more than one person is bidding in the property, then $100.00 dollar increments are used.
